Answer

I believe they do as in the cause an insulin response. That said, if this helps create long periods of insulin free caloric deficit for you, similar to how some use bulletproof coffee, then it helps you to fast.

Studies are increasingly finding that sweeteners aren’t as healthy as first thought. Some even trigger a rise in blood sugar.

The WHO now officially declare that sweeteners shouldn’t be used as a tool for weight loss or diabetic management.

I’d try and not consume it if you want the max benefit of your fast.

> The study’s findings were striking. Two sweeteners (aspartame and stevia) were found to have no significant effect on blood sugar. However, the other two (sucralose and saccharin) raised blood sugar in all participants who consumed them. (Within the sucralose group, some participants’ blood sugar levels reacted much more strongly than others, suggesting that physical responses to certain sweeteners may be highly personalised.)

Answer

Diet drinks, such as those sweetened with artificial sweeteners, do not contain calories and should not interfere with your fasting. However, it is important to note that some people may experience hunger or cravings after consuming them, which can make it harder to stick to your fasting plan. Additionally, some people may experience an increase in insulin levels after consuming artificial sweeteners, which can also negatively impact the benefits of fasting. It is best to check with your doctor or dietitian if you have any concerns.

Answer

as others have said, they’re less than ideal for a variety of reasons. I’ve learned to use them as a tool when needed but use them progressively less.

If I can drink a Diet Pepsi at a time I previously may have fallen off the wagon for weeks or more and then get back on track I think it makes sense. I’ve learned to take 80% of the benefits without going for 100% and getting zero.

Answer

The body responds to sweeteners (with the exception of stevia) the same way it does to sugar in terms of endocrinology. You are trying to change your lifestyle - get rid of sweet. That is the addiction and the problem.

Answer

I personally loose weight when having them. The catch is staying excessively hydrated and avoid caffeine.. which makes you hungry. I’ll have sprite zeros and or Fanta zero. The best thing to do is see how you feel and respond. Having this allows me to push outward because it reduces the taste for sweets. I usually stick with Gatorade zero for most it.

Honestly fasting is what you make it to be. If you can push the extremes without it, then carry on 🫡
