So I often drain my 80% ground beef, ending up with about 50% less fat, and have been wondering lately if this process of discarding that much fat is reducing the vitamins/nutrients overall? Or is most of the nutrients in beef found within the lean portion?
I literally eat 2lbs of 80/20 grassfed beef almost every single day with all the fat.
You should not be draining the fat, it is not making you fat and it contains healthy things like saturated fat, omega 3’s, and cholesterol which are essential for cognitive function, hormone production, and skin/nails/hair health.
Grassfed fatty beef is a true superfood while something like blueberries and kale are not.
I cook mine every day the same way, I just cut the beef into quarters and place it in a pan on low heat. I cook on the first side for 15mins and the second side for about 7mins. It comes out perfect every time.
Every time I skip eating meat for a day or two and return back to it, I feel extremely happy and energized and as if the biggest mistake I could make in life would be to cut out meat because when I return to it after a day or two it’s undeniable how extremely healthy it is.
It literally allows me to workout without becoming sore and beat up the next day. I always recover from my workouts when I eat fatty beef daily.
When it’s not fatty, it absolutely sucks and leaves me very, very hungry.
Fat is extremely healthy and women should have no less than 150g/day.
