Does drinking less water make losing weight harder?

I’ve been doing IF for about 2 months so far, I’ve consistently, and slowly, slowly losing weight (although my scale suucks, any recommendations lol?) Currently I’m down about 15lbs.

The one issue I am struggling with; the app I use is always recommending I drink more water, but the thing is I work in my car and I do not have the luxury of having a bathroom on hand, so I am always drinking way less than the recommendations.

Basically my question is; is my weight loss going slower than it would be if I was drinking more water?

Am I holding myself back from the full benefits of IF?

Answer

Hey OP,

Not drinking enough water can make losing weight harder because being dehydrated can slow down your metabolism. Additionally, thirst can sometimes be mistaken for hunger, leading you to eat more than you need to. Drinking enough water can also help you feel full, which can make it easier to stick to a calorie-controlled diet. Drinking water can also help you lose weight by increasing your energy levels, which can help you to be more active, and by flushing toxins out of your body. In general, it is recommended to drink at least 8 cups (64 ounces) of water per day.
