I assume all the canned ones at the store are loaded with sugar and are therefore horrible for you. However just the steeped plant matter without added sugar is probably in the same realm as green/black tea without sweetener.

It’s just a regular tea consumed on a different way, high on caffeine and antioxidants, its also a diuretic, some researchs claim it has lipolitic properties but I wouldnt take it as granted.

Where I live EVERYONE uses it, we call it “Chimarrão”. My in laws barely drink regular water, only mate, and they find weird that me and their daughter drink so much water througout the day lol - It’s so highely comnsumed around here I wouldnt believe it has any downside for them tho.

If you like drinking ludicrously hot water with a smack of grass to it, go nuts. It’s supposed to be good for you if you don’t drink it so hot that it gives you throat cancer. Great source of caffeine too.

Answer

I really like roasted mate with cacao nibs. Green I like to drink when I’m sick since it supposedly has antiviral and anti inflammatory properties.

It’s great if you are trying to kick coffee.

It tastes much brewed cold or around 190 degrees instead of boiling.

Looks like a generic energy drink to me? High caffeine, high sugar to make you feel buzzed. Not a fan of Agave and these fructose heavy sugars alts. The “antioxidant” components are made a little redundant by the things like chemicals used in it. But overall, not much of a benefit over any other energy drink in my opinion.
