Does dry fasting make your body burn muscles?

I came across an article which claims our body will burn muscle mass while you dry fast. (without saying if this applies to overweight and / or regular people lol)

And it also claims you HAVE to drink water because your body cannot go without hydration.

And we also apparently risk developing kidney stones after the first day already?

Now I always giggle when I see an article like this which doesn’t even have comments enabled (scared of the truth much?) but I wonder what you guys think of this article.

Answer

HGH spikes preventing significant muscle loss. From experience I have done 4 day dry fasts and been able to squeeze out an extra rep or two on the same weight lifting exercises post fast. A 7 day dry fast did result in some strength loss but that could’ve been due to having 10 days off lifting. If you are below 12% body fat stick to short dry fasts and below 10% body fat I’d recommending adding fat before dry fasting
