Does fasting work?

Yes, it does work. The first fast I ever did was for 6 days and I lost 15 lbs, but netted 10 lbs after gaining 5 back. I was able to maintain those lost 10 lbs for a really long time, even after going to my regular diet. If I could do it again, I would ease into the fast by eating more of a keto diet, and get out of the fast with chicken broth/light vegetables and then going back to a keto diet. I also would’ve started with shorter fasts and slowly build up. Since then I’ve done a few 1-2 day fasts but it’s been hard for me to do anything longer. I think it’s really a mental thing, you gotta be in the right mindset for it and make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons. Everyone loses weight at different rates too depending on your body fat %. And you gotta realize a lot of the weight you lose initially is water weight. But, yes the biggest thing I noticed when I fasted was the weight loss on my stomach. I was very happy with it! I wouldn’t do anything longer than 7 days though and I would only limit it to once a month if you want to do it frequently, or roll over and fast for 3 days 1x-2x a week.
