Answer

Not over that short a period of time. Eventually the body will adjust to most anything, but on the whole IF is better for your metabolism. Some studies show there being a small boost to metabolism and it avoids some of the normal metabolic adaptation from eating at a deficit with insulin stopping fat usage.

Answer

No. At least, not in the way you’re thinking.

Any major weight loss will result in your metabolism slowing simply because you’re body doesn’t need to get energy to all those fat cells. And fast cells require energy, so having fewer of that that need it means your body doesn’t have to work to feed them.

As for weight gain, it’s usually a calorie issues, as in you’re just overeating. It it’s not that, then it could be a hormone issue and you should get bloodwork done from your doctor.
