If I blended fiber, like oats with a sugary smoothie will it have any positive affect?
Easy to find out
Get yourself a gluscose monitoring kit. Drink a can of soda over 15 minutes, no fiber. Test your glucose at the 15 minute mark, the 30 minute mark and the 60 minute mark.
Now do the same thing but take the fiber along with the soda.
the timing and the soda type/amount has to be exactly the same or the test will not be accurate.
Fiber is good for you. Sugary drinks are good for quick calories/energy. Good for fueling long workouts. Probably best to limit sugars especially if overweight. There are healthier options to sugary water, but of course it can be part of a healthy diet. If you blend fruits, you basically get a sugary smoothie with fiber.
