Does our body become a super water retainer post dry fast?

Hey guys. About 2 weeks or go i finished a 5 days dry fast, and also did some sauna during. I did this for weightloss, but also to clear my skin and tighten my skin as i lose weight.

But after, i noticed my body retains water like crazy and i ain’t losing no weight even tho I’m regularly dry fasting doing rolling 24-48h fasts + overall stay in a calorie deficit when i first have eating days…I’ve had some cheat days here and there but i have stayed in a calorie deficit over all. I should’ve lost like 4-8kg more by now, but I’m stuck, and I don’t really wanna do a prolonged dry fast again until some weeks later.

I mean..I do feel like i am losing fat…But at the same time, the weight stays very still, and i know it’s probably because i retain more weight than usual.

Prior to doing the 5 days dry fast, i weighed 126kg. After 5 days i weighed 116kg.

That was 16 days ago. 2 days ago, before starting my 48h fast, i weighed 125kg, today i weigh 119kg. I’ve been in the sauna for both days…

Tho this time…I noticed i sweat way faster and way more than when i first did so using sauna during my first 5 days dry. Within 2 days i’ve lost 6kg…

And before you start talking about sauna this and sauna that is bad during dry fast blah blah blah…Just stop. I’m not doing it prolonged this time…I drink about 1L every evening with some electrolytes before bed after having been at sauna 2 times a day.

Answer

I have a feeling that your metabolism slowed down quite a bit so you may need to wake it up. It may sound counterproductive but you might need to eat more. Too much of a deficit causes your body to slow down weight loss. Speaking from experience as I’m currently doing ADF (alternative day fasting). I wasn’t losing weight when I was in a calorie deficit but I was eating much less because I wasn’t that hungry. So I decided to eat more during my eating days then that’s when I saw my weight start going down.

I’m not an expert or anything so just speaking from my experience.
