Does replacing Carbohydrate foods(rice, wheat) with protein based foods has any negative effects ?

In my country , staple food is rice/wheat(bread).

If a person takes sufficient amount of leafy greens + vegetables + egg/meat + plant based protein (like lentil , beans) , will he go through any side effects ?

From the internet and reddit I’ve come to learn that , if you cut off carbohydrate foods completely , body’s muscle turn to fat . Thus one’s muscles decrease in weight and amount , making one weak.

Also in Quora I found various articles/writings that were saying one could replace Carbohydrate with Protein based foods (meat, lentil, legume, beans).

So, is it about taking enough calory as food (even if it’s protein based) to not let body turn muscle into energy ?

The quora posts discussed that even protein based foods (meat, egg) contains calory/energy > So no need to eat rice/wheat based food.

As long as you get enough to satisfy your body’s needs and don’t have allergies to any of the foods you eat, no, no negative side effects.

Legumes also have a fair amount of carbs. Although they’re complex carbs which aren’t bad as long as you don’t overdo them.

Also, look up keto diet for an example of carb-less diets.

Yes, all foods contain calories/energy. How much you need depends on your body and lifestyle. A better goal to focus on is to meet your daily intake of macronutrients. Look up macros calculator for a better idea of what you need.
