I been seeing spirulina powder protein after reading about and there are products like This claims 2g protein per tbsp. I’m a bit spectacle about it,if it real live upto it will it be as good as whey protein.
A shake with 40g protein would mean 70g spirulina powder. Do people take that much everyday? That’s a lot of iron and other things. Also expensive. Pretty sure you should just stick to proven proteins and take spirulina for those other nutrients.
No it isn’t. Although spirulina powder contains all 9 essential amino acids making it a complete protein you would have to eat a ton of it to meet your essential amino acid requirements. However it is an excellent source of nutrition to add to your diet. Just make sure you are getting spirulina that has been tested for contaminants.
I’m honestly so tired of all these nutritionists contradicting eachother. If you eat when you’re hungry and eat mostly whole foods with limited “junk food” you’ll be fine. Notice how spirulina only became a trend in 2018 with the rise of smoothie bowls and raw veganism on youtube. Sorry if I sound like a b*tch, I’m just so over every diet contradicting another one.
