Answer

I think tasting as we cook becomes a habit. When I first started IF I didn’t know how I’d be able to cook without tasting as I cook, but I wanted to avoid it because yes, it does break our fast. What I found is that everything turns out perfect or near perfect even if I don’t taste as I cook, and any issues regarding seasoning can be taken care of afterwards if needed. Give it a try!

Answer

Unless you are making brand new recipes every day, you probably already know what the food you are cooking tastes like. If something needs a little re-seasoning, certainly that can be handled when the meal is served?

Tasting sounds like a habit to me, not a necessity.

Answer

I’m doing IF for calorie control and eating discipline in general. I’m not sold on the claims of fasting doing anything good for your body - there are conflicting studies. So I would personally taste food as I’m cooking outside of my eating window. It’s such a small amount.

Answer

Yes but you will still enjoy the benefits of fasting.

I’ve had to cook everyday for family for the past 4 months WHILE trying to do 44:4. Some days I had to taste sauces and tiny cuts of meat.

I lost 32 lbs so far but I feel like I could’ve lost an extra 5 if I lived alone and didn’t have to cook so often.
