Doing 16:8 IF 10 weeks weight went up

I’m 10 weeks on IF following Dr. Jason Fung´s great insights!

1st 6 weeks I lost 5kg, doing 16:8 x 4 days per week, great..

I have 1 Dumbell 5 kg, that I have statered using to work my upper arms and shoulders so maybe I have 1 kg of extra muscle…

Week 6-10 doing 16:8 x 7 everyday and I’ve gone up 3kg. WTF (all my clothes fit better, I have good energy, more alert, looking and feeling better but up 3 kg?)

Im left thinking that somehow I have affected my insulin level and therefore gained weight??

How? Why?

Should I start a Keto diet also???

Any feedback folks?

Answer

Your clothes fitting better is a pretty good sign that you are losing fat. Lifting weights will increase muscle mass. The Mediterranean diet is one of the best out there. Just try to avoid carbs…pastas, breads, white rice. That’ll help you stay very low carb and should help you see good results. Don’t forget to drink lots of water as well. Water really helps to clean up the body.Hope this helps and hope you start seeing more weight loss soon :)

Answer

Definitely try to avoid alcohol during your fast. If your body has alcohol in it, it’ll burn that first before it can begin to burn the fat. Here’s a great article on alcohol.https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto/alcohol-guide
