Doubt on energy drink while fasting

Specifically Reign Body Fuel. I know artificial sweeteners might trigger insulin response, I wanna know if any of you experts out there knows if it might affect my fasted state, especially when it comes to ketosis and how long this undesired effect(caused by it) might last. My goal is to lose weight basically.

Last time I did a 7 day fast I was eating healthy diet, and it was smooth water only 7 days. This time though I kinda entered eating poorly and I was about to end my fast on the 4th day. Decided to drink it and I felt better immediately. Now, thanks to it I’m actually going forward at 6th+ day already.

I used to drink the Monster Ultras, zero everything, but I hit a plateau. After I dropped them and switched to green tea, the weight loss started right back up again. In the long run, go for better electrolyte replacements and skip the energy drinks.

It won’t hurt you that much if it helps you adhere to your fast it’s actually a good tool to keep in your fasting adherence Arsenal I would advice against regulatory use of energy drinks for dependence on any substance is toxic aside from the biological mechanisms we don’t fully understand yet regarding long termUse of energy drinks. Happy fasting and good luck

Answer

I’m a little more lenient with my intermittent fasting and shorter term fasting like 2-3 days, for me that means some lemon juice in my tea. But for a proponged fast 5+ days, I definitely wouldn’t risk the insulin response or any reaction that will stop autophagy. So I drink nothing but water, electrolytes and pure green tea. I think fasting should be about also getting rid of our addictions, and that would include to sweet tasting things. When we eat/drink something sweet, our brains still have a reaction to it.

If you’re repairing your metabolism, I see no need for energy drinks anyway. You’ll start to get more energy. I used to drink energy drinks a lot too but instead of trying to find the “better” energy drink I used tea to finally kick that habit.
