Drained and Tired day 6 fasting.

I feel really drained this morning and I am worried that I’m gonna have to break my fast. I’m down 10 pounds and I want to continue but I need to be able to work. I’ve been taking Himalayan salt , Epsom salt , and baking soda for Electrolytes until I get my fasting salts that I ordered on Amazon that should be here in a couple of days. Any thoughts on why I’m so exhausted ?

Answer

There is always the opportunity to do another fast later. Personally, if things are off, I break and evaluate why. I try not to think of fasting in terms of one off events and instead as a lifestyle. That way when something feels wrong, a person can break, restock nutrients through nutrition, and start a new fast when their body is ready

Good luck

Answer

It looks like you have no potassium in your electrolytes. I’m guessing you’re probably deficient. Listen to your body. If you’re really unable to continue safely, then you probably want to consider breaking your fast.

Answer

Just break with low carb low calorie then start again. But I’ve realized it’s mental. I felt like that one time. As soon as I ate I was strong. How tf is that possible. Food doesn’t get to blood that fast

Answer

Have you tried drinking apple cider vinegar water (1-2 tablespoons in a pint of water) to ward hunger and boost energy?

A tablespoon of apple cider vinegar is technically about 3 calories and 0.1g carbs. I’ve found it very effective for energy

Answer

What electrolytes did you order online? Take it easy! I’m glad the Morgan’s salt worked, I made the mistake of taking all of my magnesium and potassium this morning at once on an empty stomach ( I’m on day 5) and I threw them up. I am also feeling very drained today so like previous commenters it’s probably the lack of magnesium and potassium.

Answer

I break my fast when feeling like this.
If you are drinking water and have put salt under your tongue and still feel off… break your fast with either 1) 2 small amount of low carb food split into 2 meals 30 minutes apart (This will save you trips to the bathroom. 😀. You will thank yourself later.)Or 2) drink 1/2 cup bone broth and eat low carb 30 minutes later either option.

For later.Everyone has to tweak electrolytes.

Salt is the gateway electrolyte, it should be your go to. I personally put a small chunk under my tongue 👅 about every.

Magnesium is the second electrolyte. Epsom salt is for soaking your feet. It causes diarrhea in most people not recommended for oral consumption. There are 7 or 8 types of magneseium google it and pick one.

Potassium I only use if I have muscle cramps. Most people get plenty of Potassium.

Figure out what works for you. Anytime I crash like you are I do not continue fasting. It’s not good for you and can cause other issues. Please listen to your body.

Break your fast for several meals over a couple of days and begin fasting again. Fasting is a marathon that you are training your body to be able do do consistently.

You made 5 days! Woot!

Answer

I thought I was taking enough salts during fasts but I was very wrong, people don’t realize how much salt is in normal food. I would up your electrolytes like 50% if you feel great then perfect. Also while fasting limit your activity. Your body under fasting is in extreme stress in of itself. I felt great once I got more salts and lowered my activity
