Drinking alcohol effects

Does anyone know WHY drinking alcohol impacts the body so different when IF? I know for a fact losing weight has NOTHING to do with

  1. weight loss - only lost 4 pounds in last 6weeks
  2. Because your fasted- I had alcohol with my dinners so that theory is not true.

So What is the reason why you get drunk and have hangovers that last for days off 1 glass or two of wine, beer, vodka?

Thanks- would love to understand the science reasons behind. It’s gotten so bad that I really think it’s not worth it to drink anything anymore going forward… but miss my wine! Is there anything you can do to offset the dreadful feelings like drink a lot of water, pinch of salt, eat tar? ….. 😂

Answer

I have discovered that when fasting, I do not get intoxicated at all, as I am drinking straight whiskey. This changes when I add pop to the whiskey. For comparison: 3 straight shots—nothing; I glass of whiskey and sprite—buzzing. Must be the sugar in the soda that is causing the alcohol to be intensified.

I found this an interesting experiment, as I had presumed that it would be the opposite. I’ve not seen anything similar posted by others, so I figure it is one of my “special human” tricks.
