Have been fasting for three days. First day the glucose reading was 88, second day it dropped to 82 and today it is 73. Is this a cause for concern ?Planning to fast for a week. At what point does glucose level stop dropping? Thanks
I’m on day 11 of my fast. My blood glucose hovers around 70 most days, but for the first few hours after waking it gets up near 100 (from the dawn phenomenon). If it gets much below 70, especially for several readings in a row, you should consider ending the fast. If you have a ketone meter you can check that your ketones are up around 5+ which would indicate plenty of fuel for your body, despite your glucose levels.
