Answer

Phoenix Protocol is legit to me. But go slow. Start with 16-24 hours and work your way up.

It seems the most difficult part of fasting for most is not the fast itself but the re-feeding period. Once you get beyond 2 days start seeing the re-feeding period as just as critical as the fasting period. You need to mentally prepare yourself for this and not slip into rewarding yourself for fasting by overeating or eating poor food.

Years of looking at posts on here leads me to believe that re-feeding is not as serious if you have a lot of fat but I would still take it serious. From my own experience you have to be very careful re-feeding after an extended fast or you can damage yourself. Whether Carnivore or Vegan, if fasting over 2 days, reintroduce food slowly, broths or juices first. Small meals. Give your body time to readjust. The Phoenix Protocol has good advice on re-feeding IMO.

You are on the right path to health and attunement with nature. The body can do amazing things if we get out of the way and let it. Over millions of years, prolonged periods of time with no food or water has been more natural to us than 24/7 food availability. The wisdom of the body and universe is way beyond any current science. We are just trying to study and learn(and pretend we know something). Getting back to nature is the most healing thing anyone can do for themselves. imo. Fasting can be incredibly healing on every level.

Answer

I’ve been water fasting my entire adulthood and began dry fasting several years ago. The Phoenix Protocol is legit, very helpful. I also follow Dr. Sergey Filonov. Keep a regular dry fasting schedule and as your body resets, your mindset and eating habits will also reset. Try 36 hours weekly. If you aren’t able to manage the entire 36 hours, just think, “Yay, that was great practice. One more step toward success.” My 36 hours begin after dinner, continue over the following day, and end at lunchtime the next day. 2 sleeps are included in that 36 hours so it’s easier for me to do it that way. Remember, there’s no failure unless you stop trying, everything is practice. <3
