Dry Fasting and Periods

I see there is not a lot of information/ accounts of this and the researcher in me can’t resist the challenge.

🪴 If any other ‘period having humans 😏’ would like to chime in on the effects of their periods pre and post fasting it would be much appreciated. 🪴

I started my fast eight days (I am currently on day 5 of my DF) before my period was to start. I have very regular periods that last for 4-5 days. I have intense dysmenorrhea on days 1 and 2 - which requires pain meds before it begins and in the following days, as well as sleep.

( I usually have INTENSE cravings before my period - so that should be fun 😬)

My goal is to do a combination of DF and WF for at least the next 3 months until I hit my goal of losing 45kg. I’ll be keeping track on the effects on my period, if any.

🪴 Again, if anyone is interested in doing the same, or has, please chime in.

EDIT: ‘Period having humans’ is a statement of fact, not an insult. It has now been placed in quotes. Yes, it is meant to be inclusive. The point of the post still stands. 😌🙄

Answer

if I start either fast 36-48 hours before my period I get zero cramps, lighter flow, and a 2-3 day period versus 5-6 days. I would definitely recommend trying a fast before your period but it depends on how stressful you find fasting.
