Dry fasting and weight lifting

I want to build muscle and burn fat at the same time.

Can I lift weights while dry fasting and will dry fasting 2 days a week make it harder to gain muscle?

Answer

I’m doing rolling 60 hours fasts and putting my weight training in between. I’m still absolutely gaining strength. But you need to take it easier during your fasts.Instead of stronglifts I cut the weight in half and do more reps. You never know with dry fasting how you might react so I suggest you refrain from lifting too much weight.

Answer

Starting at around day 2 or 3 your body will be flooded with growth hormone! You don’t lose any muscles on 3-7 day fasts, IF you do light activities. Even walking is enough to maintain all muscles! The only time you lose muscles is when you don’t move at all, are sitting or lying in bed all day.
