Dry fasting but broken with water drinking unintentionally

Hi guys. Originally my family is from the Middle East so I’m not new to fasting. Done it since I was a kid. I stopped for the past few years but now with I’m on it again. I’m on 36h dry fast as of now but I had some water mistakingly. Two very small sips. Not sure how would that affect on the process overall? Can you advice please

Thanks!

It will completely ruin all your efforts. It’s as though you didn’t even fast.

Ah, come on. Things aren’t that binary. If you ran a marathon but had to stop for 10minutes midway, did you still run a marathon or not? What do you call a marathon anyway?

It’s all a matter of definition and personal choice of constraints. But your body doesn’t make such strict distinctions.

Same with fasting. The more intense, the more powerful. If it’s a bit less intense, it’s a bit less powerful. That’s it. No big deal.

Now if you swore to yourself that you wouldn’t drink but you still did it, that’s something different. But that’s your own subjective choice of what you decide to consider acceptable or not, and you are the only one in charge of “discussing that situation with yourself”

I feel like it probably ‘technically’ breaks the fast, but probably in a way similar to having a little bone broth during a water fast. It probably delays some of the benefits, but you would still get benefits if you kept going. That’s my conjecture, anyway.
