Dry fasting for weight loss

It’s end of day 3 of 7 day soft dry fasting and so far I’ve only lost 2.3 kg. Honestly I was expecting more since I’m overweight. Most people lose more and and aren’t even overweight. I’m really frustrated 😩I don’t know what to do. Should I just end the fast and do keto? Or should I see it thru

If you were on a relatively standard diet heading into the DF, you would just now be entering full ketosis. If you can take it out to 7 days I think you’ll see more drop off, plus that can help with all sorts of healing and kill off parasites that might be driving certain eating patterns.

I did two 36 hr soft dry fast and lost 2.72kg/6lbs and have a bmi of 38. I too expected to lose a lot more and didn’t. Maybe the next few days your body will catch up, either way once you complete the dry fast you can do keto to stay in fat burning mode.

Answer

Dry fasting is not ideal for weight loss - it’s a healing form of fasting. Yes you lose weight, but most of it returns when you drink water. People get way too excited about losing weight when most of it isn’t “real” weight. Weight loss is better seen with water fasting (you can go for longer periods of time) as well as what you eat afterwards.
