i am a heavy smoker. decided to quit smoking same day i started dry fast. it was super easy - no oral fixation no physical need. piece of cake. did 9 days of dry fast. about couple day after end, maybe even next day - all the craving hit me like an avalanche. same happened to my friend who did 5 day dry fast. it wasn’t excruciating nor easy either but i quit for month or two. then moved back to my old place where we have really nice patio where we like to chill and my roomie smokes and that made me start again. so dry fasting does something to physical cravings. dunno what it is but give it a try - it is the only way to find out what works for you

Answer

I don’t know much about fasting but I don’t think nicotine effects Ketosis. Imo you need to conquer your nicotine addiction before you start. The amount of damage having a nicotine addiction has will arguably be more than the positive effects of fasting

Answer

Maybe you should try first few days intermittent dryfasting to built tolerance . I am non smoker, but i used to drink a lot of caffeine. During my 6,5 days dryfast I completely forgot about the coffee, all I was dreaming for was water. Water is a basic need, I don’t think somebody will want to smoke if he did not drink water 3 days, but when he stops the fast is when the smoking cravings might hit harder.
