Dry to water to juice fasting

Hi guys, I’m currently on day 3 of a planned 5 day dry fast. I was thinking of adding 3-7 days of water fasting followed by 3-7 days of juice fasting to finish things off. Has any of you tried a similar combination before? Would be great to hear your experiences and opinions.

Edit: The high sugar contend is a concern I’m sharing. Maybe mainly green juices packed with spinach, kale, celery, cucumber in addition to fruit could be great for rehydration, or even vegetable juice only…

I just did this!

I dry fasted for 3 days + water fasted for 4 days, and I’m now on day 5 (out of 7) of a juice fast. Then I plan to transition to about 7 days of lower calorie vegan / raw vegan eating, before adding fish and eggs and meat.

I know what you mean about sugars in juices. I’ve been actively AGAINST juicing for years, because my main eating philosophy been a combination of paleo and low carb / high fat. I just couldn’t accept juicing as healthy. I have gone months at a time with no added sugar and very limited fruits.

This is my 9th or 10th 7-10 days fast (usually DF+WF) over 1.5 years. I have been noticing a very distinct shift in what foods I want to eat after a fast. I can’t even think about broth, for example. I think I’d throw up. My body craves fruits and veggies.

So just as my tastes have changed, I relaxed about juicing. I came to the conclusion (my personal subjective conclusion) that there are phases of eating and each phase serves its purpose. I’m not as rigid anymore. I try to really listen to my body.

On my 3 days I drank only diluted grapefruit juice. (1:1) I loved it. I already had done something similar after one of my fasts, and I loved that I wasn’t craving anything else, just grapefruit juice. Yesterday I drank green juices: celery, spinach, parsley, ginger, lemon, green apple. Today I already had a pineapple, carrot, apple, ginger juice and a beets, carrrots, apples juice. I still want only juice, I don’t crave anything else at all. I feel great!

Yesterday I felt an insane amount of energy and rode my bike outside for about an hour–my body just wanted to move.

But mostly I feel a quieter energy–I’m not tired or hungry and I don’t have any other “side effects”. I’m very happy with my choice to juice after the fast.
