Ear popping (pressure?), brain fog, and headaches

I’ve been on a 16:8 plan for a few weeks. Nearly every day around hour 15-16, I develop a pressure in my head (feels like ears popping but can’t pop) along with a slight headache and feel very groggy/brain fog.

Improves slightly after eating but sometimes sticks around several hours.

I drink about 120 oz of water (sometimes more) a day. I just ordered some electrolyte drops.

Anything else I can do to mitigate? Is this normal? Goes away?

Answer

If you’re not supplementing salt, you 100% will get symptoms that include a headache and grogginess. It’s great that you ordered electrolyte drops, but it would be even better to sit down with the guidelines in the Wiki and plot out exactly how many drops you’d need, and if you’d also have to add additional sodium/potassium/magnesium. A lot of electrolyte products are low in sodium, which you can just add to your water separately.
