If I’m on a diet and trying to eat less and cut certain foods would homemade chicken and dumplings be ok as long as I don’t eat a shit ton I don’t exactly know what was all used cause I didn’t make it
Weight loss, if that is the aim of your diet, is all about using more kcal than consuming them. If you in theory burn 2000kcal a day, and eat only a bag of patot chips of 1000kcal, you still lose weight. It would not be a healthy diet, but you would lose weight.

The great thing about having homemade meals, is that you get to control, “what you are eating”, “whether it has tons of salts/additives in the food”. I prefer to eat homemade meals, compared to going for fast food. It does take time to cook the food and prepare, but health wise it is worth it.
