Eating window question

So I’m starting IF. 16, 8 roughly. My question is does it matter if my 8 hr eating window changes? So say I fast an extra 2 hours so I push my 8 hr window back 2 hrs.

Ex Friday fast from 6pm to 10 am. Sat ate - 10 am till 2 Saturday, fast from 2pm to 7 am

So I shortened my eating window (because I ate a lot.) then did another 16 hr fast. I can also see pushing window later depending on the day, but will try and do 16 hrs from when ever last meal was. Am I harming my efforts in any way?

Also just mindful of calories, and tracking lately. So if I hit my allotment for the day my goal is to start the fast.

Thanks

Answer

Ideally you’d be going for a 16 hour eating window. An hour or two difference isn’t going to matter all that much.

If you find your weekends having longer eating windows, then you can change them up them. Like try to stick to a schedule Monday thru Thursday and then another eating schedule on the weekends. That’s fine, too.

As long as your meeting your goals, it’s all good.
