Dear OP: been there and I feel your pain. However, please try over at r/morbidlyobese and r/fasting. This sub is more for scientific discussion, and you’ll get more help over at the other subs.
You CAN do this - time, effort, and one foot in front of the other.
Just eat the giant ribeye steak (but fries are a big no no) and forget about the spinach then. Sticking to eating meat only has proven very useful for people with food cravings. On the one hand it is nutrient dense and on the other hand it triggers satiety signals that most food mess up with in our contemporary society. You don’t need fibers in your diet. And if some people here might be offended by such a claim, at the very least one can say that you can remove fibers from your diet at least for a few weeks/months.
Well, you don’t sound extremely obese by modern standards but you probably do have some health problems. I would try to eat small meals, with a portion of meat about the size of a playing card and a lot of vegetables and a ice cream scoop serving of rice or some other starch. That’s been recommended as a balanced diet for a while. I would avoid too many carbohydrates, usually I use rice or potatoes or beans for a starch, beans having more proteins and fiber and being the best option. If you spread these out throughout the day once every three hours you will keep your liver glucose okay, if you want to fast you can eat one large meal of beans and rice and protein and fast the rest of the day. I do this sometimes, I like it. When I was doing this I called them Buddha bowls of rice, spinach (or arugula), and beans (black or kidney) and I ate one big bowl and fasted the rest of the day and I lost a lot of weight that way. Also it’s a way to be vegan and helps gut bacteria. I should do this again myself. There will be many answers, the one that is easiest to maintain is usually best. You can add spicy mustard and it should be tasty too.
