Ended a 9-Day Dry Fast One Week Ago and Feeling Pain in Shoulders - Is This Normal?

Hi Everyone,

I finished a dry fast one week ago from today that was 9 days long. I did it to heal a tendon injury in the shoulder (both shoulders to be exact).

During the fast I felt a lot of pain where the injury was, but I’m feeling it just as much after the fast as I did during the fast, and it’s almost in constant pain (I believe it’s healing, but not sure). Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

I would guess you were in the middle of the second acidotic crisis and the shoulder was in the middle of healing but not allowed to finish which is why 11 days is what people shoot for (under supervision)

You can do fractional fasting - if you do another 5-6 day fast within 2 months you should get the same benefit of one long 14 day fast. This probably assumes you eat really clean in between. Also I would take at least 3 weeks in between to re-feed.

Scroll down to Royally-Brilliants post about day 9 being the most important. Sounds like Dr Filonov days to never break the fast on day 9.

9 days? Wow! How did you manage to persevere for so long?My longest dry fast was for 48 hours and for most of the fasts I end up breaking them around the 40 hour mark.It were always soft dry fasts by the way.

Have you any advice to go longer than 48 hours?
