Erythritol and insulin levels

I realize that the sweet taste of an artificial sweetener will raise insulin levels slightly. The research on erythritol itself though claims that it doesn’t raise insulin levels and instead is either passed directly from the body in the urine or bowel. I’m thinking that using this would be a way to have a relatively safe treat on non fasting days. I’m otherwise struggling to stick to keto.

Does anyone have references to Dr. Fung speaking about this topic or any advice on its use?

Answer

Its not about it having blood sugar effect its about sweeteners making the same cravings and hunger signals that sugar does - you need to go off all sugar for a while before using sweeteners and train your brain not to think the sweet taste is sugar
