Extended Water Fasting w/ a hard plateau, help!

I’m doing a 25 day extended water fast. I’m currently on day 15 (previous record was 11 days, yay!)but my weight has plateaued for the past 5 days. This has never happened before in my shorter fasts. I’ve been trying to wait it out for the “whoosh” but I seems like it’s not happening… Should I take myself out of the fast? Any advice on what I should do?

I’ve also tried drinking green tea as a diuretic, drinking electrolytes (snake juice) and today I’ll be trying light exercise (light walking) but I’m stumped, discouraged and very frustrated. Any help would be great, thank you in advance!

Answer

If you’re fasting, you’re burning fat. It would be impossible to truly stall. If your weight isn’t dropping, that just means you’re retaining water. Fasting made me retain water even more intensely than I did before - I once gained 7 pounds during a 5 day fast then lost 13 pounds the following week after my period started. As long as you feel fine, keep going!

Answer

Do you happen to be using salt to help ease feeling yucky? I followed the Master Cleanse book one time and they said to take salt every morning. 10 days and I lost zero pounds - so frustrating. So I looked it up online and saw several comments about the salt. I stopped the salt for the last two days and lost 5 pounds each of those days!!
