Any tricks before a fast to not feel like shit?
Less carbs leading in. Focus on keto friendly foods to get your body in fat burning shape
Drink more water leading in
I find exercise before helps, too

An aside: Give your body space and time to adapt to fasting. It’s a skill that doesn’t just appear overnight. Let yourself get used to it over multiple fasts. It does get easier if you take the time to pay attention to your body and learn what to expect and why

Good luck!
Change your diet to low carb at least one week before you start fasting to give your body time to get fat-adapted. Then after one or two weeks try a few 16/8 fasts and watch some youtube videos and read some articles about fasting. Then when you feel you are ready you can try another 24 hours or longer.
Your body needs some time to adapt to burning fats and fasting.
Stop all carbs and sugars a few days before doing an EF and add more proteins and healthy fats. I also take the extended day fasting electrolytes to keep my minerals balanced (saves me from headaches, fatigue and muscle cramps).
It gets easier the more times you do it. The first time I fasted I thought I would do 48 hrs easy. I had to bail out at about 26 hours. After that I just started doing 24 hour fasts once a week. After a couple of months you don’t even think about it too much.
