i was googling about fasting while being on your period and saw someone say that when you’re on your period you’re retaining water so weight loss may seem to stop. but after the period you will drop the water weight. i just started my period this morning. do you think it’s possible ive been retaining water these past few days leading up? cause my weight wasn’t changing. or is that not how it works? also people don’t be mean i just want to learn.

Yes, it happens to me too. I’ll be doing good with my dieting (keto) and slowly lose weight, but then for like 3 days the number will get stuck and then my period hits me.I also have a pretty heavy flow.

Yes, your body can start storing water a few days before your period. You might also need to eat more and either take a break from fasting or have a bigger eating window. Just listen to your body’s needs.

So I apparently planned my first 7 day fast the same time my period was supposed to start…. im 34 hours in and this is the hardest it’s ever been. I’m sorely tempted to break. Like right now. Maybe with something healthy and turn it into a rolling 35s for 7 days? I feel awful and I have no clue.
