Fasting and staying in keto with OMAD SW:140 H:5’4” A:25F

I am planning on starting with a 3 day fast to kick into keto. I am mainly doing this to decrease body fat percentage, reset my body and for my own metal health. I am relatively healthy and workout 5x a week as well as have an active job yet I still have quite a bit fat. My plan was to fast for 3 days (I have already been doing a few 36h fasts), then switch to OMAD. I love eggs so I have planning on having eggs toast and a protein shake every day (don’t judge its my favorite meal). Roughly 37g of carbs, 26g of fat, and 46g of protein. I am still trying to keep my calories low to maximize fat loss. Will this OMAD kick me out of ketosis? Any advice?

Answer

> Toast kick you out of ketosis ?

Pretty likely.

Not sure for how long. Maybe not long at your young age.

Test with a Keto Mojo if you want to know.

It’s probably not important for weight loss.

See how it goes and if OMAD is hard then cut the bread portion in half.

My fav breakfast is Tabouleh salad with steak.

Answer

About 20-25 carb be could be tolerated but you’ll only know for sure if you measure blood.

Maybe you can sub low carb something for the bread (like low carb bread)

Good luck

I don’t think anything is worth doing for weight loss unless you’re going to keep doing to keep the weight off.

Answer

Regular bread will DEFINITELY kick you out of ketosis! If your using a keto specific bread then that’s fine. Also depends on what type of shake any sugar or high sugar content fruits (ie..banana ) would also kick you out of ketosis.
