Fasting & Thanksgiving?

It’s probably a stupid question, but I’ve been trying to work a long term fast around my social obligations for some time now.

I’m on day 4, and relatively speaking, I’ve had a pretty good fast so far, but thanksgiving is coming up.

I’m wondering if I can eat a small amount of low carb food and stay in ketogensis so that after thanksgiving I can get back into my fast with minimal symptoms.

Has anyone tried this before? Do you think it will work?

Answer

I agree with others who have said try to just eat and enjoy the holiday. I get in these weird mental games with myself and I think they’re not 💯 healthy. The key is being flexible and this one day a year isn’t going to matter at all in the long term.

I am actually breaking a 10 day fast ON THANKSGIVING. I am so wondering how smart that is …lol…i am going to break with bone broth and eat VEEERY cautiously but i know i will want some adult beverages.
