Fasting for 40 days

I really want to do a 40 day fast consuming juiced kale and seamoss and spring water only. I’m just a little scared of not being under any supervision. Plus this will be my first fast. Please any ideas?

Oh my sweet summer child, please read up a lot more on fasting before attempting this. You do not know enough simply by expressing that you want to start with a 40 day starvation diet. Do not do this. Instead, read Dr Fung’s work so you can learn the difference between fasting and starvation. Listen to the Obesity Code podcast, read Dr Satchin Panda’s work, listen to Found My Fitness by Dr Rhonda Patrick.

Then download the Zero app and start slow with a 16:8 time restricted eating regimen for at least a month and work up to 24, 36, 48, 72 hour intermittent fasts. Then experience the pain of blowing eeeeeeeverything out your butthole for at least a day bc you didn’t reintroduce food into your gut slowly enough after only 69.5 hours of fasting, or you took too much salt at once and now you’re an hour and a half late for work bc your ass is a firehose. Buy Butt Paste or Destin and softy soft moistened wipes - you will need them. Survive that then next you can try a week.

Doing a 40 day fast unprepared is like saying you can hop into a helicopter and fly it without training. It is dangerous and you will probably fail. HOWEVER, if you learn more and do this correctly you can absolutely work up to a 40 day true fast. Best of luck.

Why juiced kale and seamoss? Why not just water? Those nutrients will technically not be fasting.

You should read the work of Dr George Cahill - he ran 42 day fasts in his studies along with other intervals. This was in obese patients. If you’re not obese please don’t commit to this undertaking. If your BMI is of a healthy number then some other type of fast might be healthier like intermittent.

Also regarding the nutrients breaking the fast that work comes out of Scripps institute and Dr Sacha Panda.

Fasting will ramp down your thyroid hormone as is, juicing and ingesting concentrated doses of goitergens and antithyroid compounds from the kale will not only be harmful to your health but make your fast less effective.

Hi, I’m a Type 1 diabetic. I’ve done a 42 day fast juicing only. No I was not under doctor supervision. You know how you feel better than anyone. It was the best thing I’ve ever done. Aches and pains went away. I had some sort of funky smell coming out of my armpits and that went away and never came back. I’ve always struggled with energy since I was a kid. I finally got a ton of that. Oh yeah and mind focus.
