>skinny or thin people should not fast
I think the general consensus, in the fasting community, is that if people are naturally skinny or thin then fasting is OK but just be careful, long fasts, particularly if you’re not trying to heal anything are probably not way to go, so just monitor what you’re doing and make sure you refeed very well to put back on the weight that you lost.
One interesting thing I’ve read on the subject though, is from Upton Sinclair who wrote The Fasting Cure, in 1911 and in his observations dry fasting led to body weight regulation rather than long term loss, i.e., if you’re underweight, you’d gain weight until healthy, after dry fasting.
The real issue though, is there are a tonne of people with eating disorders that are attracted to fasting and sadly it reinforces their ED. The biggest giveaway is that they ask questions about weight loss, not healing or spiritual effects. I’m very scared for these people, because it is clear that fasting is a tool that can be abused and I think it would be unethical to ignore this issue.
I’m going on 9 days , first 4 days dry, last 4 1/2 very little water. My bad breath gone and mental clarity is great. I just feel weak now and am loosing sleep so I might get a juice today. Oddly towards the end of my fast I can sleep better in the morning than at night.
Best thing I can say is take it one day at a time and know your body is also detoxing. Enjoy the process and passage of time knowing that the discomfort is you healing and something great for your being! And to rehydrate well with electrolytes!
