Fasting is weird.

I broke my fast a few days early because I was starting to feel bad. The first eight days, I was hungry, but felt good other wise. Anyway, I broke my fast last night, and this morning, I skipped breakfast because I wasn’t hungry. I’d been looking forward to eating, but when it came to it. I didn’t want to eat for eating’s sake.

You’d think after 8.5 days of no food you’d be starving for the next couple of days. But I’m actually just content with coffee.

Answer

As a rule of thumb, treat half the number of days you were fasting as a “refeeding” period. During this time really listen to your appetite, eat foods that you know you digest well and avoid heavy or processed foods.

It takes some time for your digestion and subesequently your appetite to come fully back online after fasting.

Fasting IS weird. Just wait until you start experiencing the emotional processing that prolonged fasting can bring on.
