Fasting NOT for weight loss

I know many people start fasting to lose weight… but am wondering if there are others who fast for other benefits, not losing weight? I have been naturally fasting lately by just listening to my body when its hungry, but I don’t want to lose weight and am worried that by fasting I will lose weight I can’t afford to lose (I am already quite slim).

My friends have started because of me for mental clarity! Just short 24 hours or so but yeah, some athletes I know like to rest the body for a day. Also cause of a lot of spirituals in the family fasting has been part of my cultural practice since a child.

However, you need to be getting the right nutrients, a sudden change in appetite may indicate something else going on with your body. Don’t hesitate going to a doctor if worried. I have heard of slim people who fast for 5 days ever 3 months or just naturally fast after dinner to breakfast. Some people who skip two days a week and then up the calories. Think of your goals, plan and make sure you get enough calories and whole foods.

I love the relationship and clarity of communication that I get from fasting, however I am obese and it is safe for me to fast for longer times as I have the mass to feed it.

Answer

what’s your reason to fast? how long are you fasting for ?

fat loss doesn’t happen at a fast rate. plus you can consume healthy fat to keep your body burning fat and get the health benefits of ketosis .

Answer

I fast for 48 hrs every 2 weeks and I naturally don’t eat between 19:00 and around 9:00 (some would call that IF). I am slim and never lost any weight at all. It alle depends on what you eat when you do eat, I guess.
