Fasting not generating the results expected since having covid

Experienced faster here. Went from 19/5 to OMAD and then worked my way up the fasting ladder to a PB of 13 days water only which was followed by 7 day fast after one meal.

In Nov 2020, I had covid and have had a problem with fasting, blood glucose and insulin ever since. Despite the same low carb diet, I often see BGs in the 200s. Last week I finally pulled off a decent fast of 120 hours but BG levels remained between 110-125. Normally, I’d see them in the 70-90 range. I don’t even bother wasting ketone strips when the BG is this high.

I ended the fast, ate low carb for 4 days and again BG back above 200. 262 to be precise. Made appt with MD and taking some metformin and fasting again.

Anyone else seeing poor glucose control after having covid? Thanks in advance.

I got covid in 2020 and was wiped (like most folks) but my energy never returned. Finally got a blood test for it and my thyroid was just cooked, off the scales bad numbers. Had to start taking synthetic and it’s still at a point of finding the right levels. After a lifetime of perfect tests showing great blood work including thyroid i’m dealing with problems on weight and energy. Had your levels checked?

Answer

Honestly, a lot of people are missing the excercise component in their diets. You should get 30-60 mins of good excercise to improve circulation. But if im not mistaken, dont do it directly after taking metformin

Answer

You may need to start eating again, your body may be resenting the caloric restriction and is nuking your metabolism.

Give yourself a few days of normal, clean, but abundant (not excessive)eating, then fast again.
