Fasting once a month for women

So I don’t like IF bc of my life style, but as a woman I’ve been thinking about monthly fasting. I want to do it in the best moment of my cycle, so I think some days after my period stops. So my question is for a monthly fast, how many hours are recommended? I’ve heard that more than 72 hrs a month is dangerous. Or maybe I can do 5 days every two months?

…where did you hear that?? That’s not at all true. Some people do 72 hours a week, and for diabetic and overweight women, it’s what Dr. Fung recommends. I suggest doing a lot of research before starting anything. The Obesity Code is a great place to start, it’s an excellent book…as are his videos on YouTube and anything on the Diet Doctor website.

Answer

I do a 24 hour group fast once a month, or sometimes as long as three days. Keeping it a regular part of my routine helped me through the pandemic, it kept me from getting into a rut for too long. The next one is on Wednesday, everyone’s invited. I’ve never heard of anyone saying it’s dangerous.
