Answer

My mental health has definitely improved with fasting + exercise.

Though I don’t have those problems you mentioned medically, I do experience those from time-to-time, like I imagine many other people do too.

Compared to 4 months back, I’m at a much better place mentally.

Answer

i think antibiotic will kill your gut bacteria, then take the probiotic supplement. I’m doing the antibiotic, fiber smoothie, no sugars, probiotic supplement.
What I’m not sure of is fasting going to kill the gut bacteria

Answer

Anecdotally, I think better when fasting.

Not fasting related but my partner who was convinced she was born with terrible chronic anxiety magically stopped experiencing panic attacks when she cut out sugar and started cardio 30 minutes a day. More than any pill had ever helped.

Fasting always brings the “clarity” and focus that is often discussed but at some points during the fast my mood will certainly drop and a little anxiety will kick in. Also depends on if I had too much coffee and it could be a “come down” from that. Haven’t done a water only fast in a while.

Overall though, I’d say regular fasting has been a plus for my mental health.
