Ok so I never necessarily fasted, but at one point in my life, I was barely eating and I lost hella weight on accident. It was due to my spiritual awakening and just being turned off by fast food and eating meat, so I ended up barely eating and although my mind was the clearest it was, I was almost in 129. I’m 5’11 I’m usually around 135-145. So I’m wondering, if working out and putting on muscle will counteract the lack of food. Could I still maintain a certain weight?
I’d recommend working out gaining some muscle and strength if you prefer to be on the slimmer side. There a few options for you.
You could do what someone mentioned, intermittent fasting or you could fast 1 day every week and eat at maintenance calories for the rest of the week.
Fasting has no limits really, lots of combinations you can throw together.
I’m small. I lose scale weight during a fast but it pretty much all comes back when I start eating again. I do lose some fat, a small amount that stays off. I can tell by how my body feels when I touch it. Not enough to worry about. I also tend to be a lot more deliberate about what I eat in the weeks following a long fast so that probably helps with the fat. I do wonder if fasting would be easier if I had more body fat. I have some visible abs but I’m far from a fitness model.
