Fasting with bone broth?

Wondering if anyone has tried a “bone broth fast” and seen any weight loss results similar to a water fast. Interested to know about anyone’s experiences with that.

Answer

If it is just bone broth, the results are qualitatively the same as of a “pure” fast for weight loss, but of course you have to discount the calories from it.

It might mess up autophagy, but I don’t know of any evidence for or against it.

IMO it is great, especially to deal with feeling cold and you can add electrolytes to it and make your life less miserable

Answer

I don’t think I’ve ever had bone broth, unless the liquid from a can of chicken noodle soup counts lol. Aside from the calories possibly impacting your weight loss, I can’t imagine why bone broth would be negative. I know that the fasting mimicking diet allows for 500 calories worth of “food” whilst claiming to not inhibit autophagy, so I think it’s fine either way.
