Fasting with iron deficiency?

Hey guys :) I just got my labs done and found a severe iron deficiency (pretty sure caused by my copper IUD/excessive bleeding)

I don’t want to give up my fasting goals and lifestyle. Does anyone have any experience with fasting with low iron? I will be starting a regimented supplementation routine soon so my fasts, if I continue, won’t be true dry (more like restricted liquid)

I fast for weight loss mostly

Any thoughts appreciated xx 💕

Answer

Don’t fast. You want to make sure your vitamins and minerals are good before fasting. I suggest a carnivore diet for a good month to bring that iron back up. Once you know your lab work is good, then go and fast with a peace of mind.
