I got type 2 diabetes 3 years ago. And I got inshape. Exercise helped me conquer that but its nothing like fasting.
Im on day 9 day of a 10 day fast and the results are crazy. Heres my results.
Its legit. Like SUPER legit.
So how does the fasting work with diabetes?
My wife is hypoglycemic and doctors always tell her to eat every two hours and eat late and have a snack at night and eat early which I think is total BS.
If she doesn’t eat for half a day though she will get really sick
Okay. So I have been trying to do extended fasts for weeks and just haven’t been able to make it even to 24 hours. This post has pushed huge encouragement my way. After all my weekend plans are over I’m going on a fast. I work out daily but I’m going to remove cardio so that the fast is easier and more manageable. Thank you!!! And congratulations!
Most problems from diabetes come from hyperglycemia (high glucose in the blood) which will not happen if you fast, so that explains it. Hopefully by losinng weight you can lower or perhaps overcome the insuline resistance (diabetes type 2) and need less and less medication
Most of what you lost in the first day was water weight. It’s impossible to lose that much fat. Having said that, if you go back to eating carbs, you are going to gain back a good amount of what you lost in water weight.
Diagnosed with diabetes 6 months ago, started 16/8 in September, and a dirty 16 as I have bulletproof coffee in the am. Next A1c is in December (last was 11), my daily numbers are 135-175 from 375-450. Diet had me hovering around 250-300 but the fasting really kickstarted it. I’m being cautiously optimistic that I reversed it or at minimum it’s controlled.
