Two years of sitting on my butt at the computer all day long, drinking beer all night long, and getting fatter by the day. I’m 1.76m (5ft 9in) and weigh a solid 102kg (225lbs) as a result. It’s all my own doing.
Today I turn over a new leaf and get my sh!t together.
Edit: I am blown away at the incredible support and encouragement here on this sub! Sincerest thanks to you all.
Congratulations on deciding to make a change ……… many folks here have done amazing things with IF. If I may suggest , for your own records, take some photo’s and make some body measurements as you start, then update them (same time of day and same day of week) perhaps twice a month. Having a record of progress seems to help people stay focused when their resolve waivers. Best of luck.
September I started IF with Keto and I’m down 30lb. Now I do fail here and there and have a cheat day or two a week but been pretty consistent otherwise. 250 down to 220 on a 5’5” frame. You definitely can do it. Even been doing OMAD here and there as well. I figure through all the odd stuff at it and see what happens. Good luck and God speed.
You’ve got this! I’m 39F and likewise sit at the computer all day long and used to drink 3 craft beers a night. With IF I lost 30 pounds in six months with almost no stress. It really does feel like a cheat code.
I am also 58 and also 5’9 beer drinker. Weighed about same as you 6 months ago.I have been doing 48 hours water only once a week and combine with exercise (crunches, core and cardio).Incredible results after 6 months 184 lbs now from 225 ish.Do it !
55 year old who pretty much was the same and started IF last July. It works man!! I took a bit of a break over holiday but today I’m back. That’s the great thing about IF. Black coffee and staying busy. Going for walks helps too if you can. I also use Life fasting app which basically counts down my fasting goal. I can then post my results in my fasting group and get feedback from the community. Everyone there is super supportive. You got this!
Important information to remember. This is a marathon not a sprint. I’ve lost 30 lbs over the course of a year and a bit. The good news is that this is one of the easiest ways to lose weight. So the marathon can be easy.
I’ve fallen off of the wagon a couple of times. But it’s pretty easy to get back on.
Beer was a killer for me. I love it and could get away with a case a week when I was working. I was in construction and did hundreds of stairs daily and a lot of lifting as part of my job. Last June, 14 months into forced retirement I was up 15 or 20 pounds to 211. I stopped drinking beer and lost 10 pounds of water weight in 10 days. Then I started IF and cutting carbs. Not keto level, that came a few months later. Don’t be in a hurry, you will find your path and you will succeed!
