Look I like water as much as the next person(okay maybe a little less), but sometimes you just need a little flavor or some carbonation to change things up but you gotta be careful about the type of sweeteners used and things that can cause an insulin response so what are some of your go-to drinks when you need a little something extra?
I have developed the ultimate fasting hot drink, mushroom broth. I’m in Alaska, I forage for about 10 different kinds of mushrooms and they all have their particular culinary use. There is a blend of boletes I dehydrate and turn into powder form for the recipes that require a strong mushroom taste such as meat, sauces, and gravies. As stock t is meaty with a deep flavor and extremely filling. Better yet dehydrated mushrooms have 26 calories per 100 grams, and it only takes 2 grams to make a cup. I also season it with salt and no-salt for the needed sodium and potassium. I’m waiting for a can of magnesium citrate powder so I can do the full spectrum electrolyte replenishment with it.
If you are willing to trust some random person on the internet send me a PM, I’ll send you some.

I’m not particularly concerned with the cephalic insulin response from consuming artificial sweeteners. I don’t feel it has any significant contribution against my fasting, so I just drink diet sodas while I fast.
If you’re the kind of person that diet sodas make you crave sugary foods, then likely won’t be a good option for you, but for me I drink the stuff like it’s going out of style.
I have a CO2 system (CO2 tank, regulator and carb-a-cap) from my old brewing days. I like carbonating my electolyte drink (Mortons lite salt, and magnesium).
I’ll also cold brew flavored tea overnight in the fridge.
I like sparkling water when fasting. My preferred brand is Aha, in blueberry/pomegranate. There are no sweeteners and no calories, so it kinda tastes bland when you aren’t fasting. But when I’m in the middle of a fast, the flavor and sparkling is plenty to make it way more palatable than plain water

Tea, black coffee, but no fruit flavors while fasting or artificial sweeteners, BUT you can have those during your eating window. I drink a lot water when I don’t keep it ice cold during the day. I like it with a little bit of ice and that melts and it tastes so good. I automatically sip while working during the day. Anything like cucumber in your water or fresh fruit will stimulate insulin. Even sugarfree gum because the body thinks food coming and before you know it, insulin.
