Fell off my routine and gained weight

You don’t mention how long the vacation was, but chances are you didn’t actually consume the extra ~35,000 calories it would take to put on that much body fat. Sure, some of it is fat but you’re also retaining more water because of the change in diet. Don’t beat yourself up over it and you’ll probably be amazed at how quickly it will drop back off.

I’m in an endless cycle of losing and gaining five pounds so I get it! My husband told me that fitness and weight loss aren’t stagnant. Your body is in a constant state of gaining and losing weight and physical fitness. For some reason, trying not to think of weight loss as something I’ll achieve helped.
