Answer

I don’t know how far in it happened, but at some point, I was able to easily slide out of some of my jeans without even unbuttoning them. And they looked really bad.

Luckily, I have the next size down already in my closet.

Shirts that are too big can be worked with (usually) but when pants get too, too big, they just look awful.

Answer

Work from home has been in my favor, so I managed to put off buying new clothes until I’d lost about 4in off my waist. At that point there was too much fabric in my jeans and pants to cinch in even with a good belt. I’ve been rocking the oversized shirt look where I can though.

That being said I’ve prioritized undergarments and have bought them a lot more frequently as I’ve dropped weight. Baggy underwear is not fun or confidence building. Also bras are not generally weight change friendly so those have been acquired as needed which is an annoying expense. I’ve found having my base layers properly fitting makes everything fall a bit better and can make not quite perfect or now oversized fits look intentional.

I have lost sixteen pounds since August (231 to 215 lbs) and nothing needs replacement yet. Some elastic waistbands will need to be taken in on pajamas and the like, because my waist measurement is down by more than four inches. I do the sewing myself. We’ll see how far I go before taking in is not enough. Thanks for posting this question.

Answer

I am down 56lbs and I have no clothes to wear. My work pants started to get big after 20lbs lost. My work shirts (uniform) look comically large at this point. I’m not asking a new uniform until I get closer to my goal of another 40lbs gone.

On the weekends and after work I’ve been living in sweatpants and big tshirts. I’m sure my husband would prefer I dressed nicer, like I used to… but I don’t want to buy new clothes yet.

Answer

I can fit into a smaller size each time I lose about 20 pounds, but I actually already have smaller clothes from before, so I just shop my closet. I’d rather not buy new clothes unless absolutely necessary.

Answer

I bought ‘mini goal’ pants when I started in late September. They are currently loose, even after the holiday weekend. Do I need new pants? Nah. I’m a goblin and I’ve got belts. But I do need a new mini goal pair. So, three ish months?
